Wicked... wicked cool!

I saw Wicked last night. It was quite a show. The main character's voice was incredible, and the others were very good. The plot, while rather predictable, was pleasing in a shallow kind of way. The music was good- not quite so "musical-y".
I was reading about the composer, Stephen Schwartz (I think that is his name...) and how he was "exiled from Broadway" because he had too much of a pop influence. (Thank goodness it wasn't a modern pop influence!) Some of the songs were really grear- "Popular" was the crowd favorite, and "Defying Gravity" by far the most meaningful and well performed.
One thing I thought odd- the finale was very small and humble, even when compared to the first act finale. Is there a precedent for this, and I just didn't know it?
Anyway, I reccomend it, It was a good time.
P.S. While image searching, I found this website. It was written by a crazy, but I find it to be quite entertaining, if you assume that every Egyptological reference on it is false. Even the easy stuff is wrong! (Now, I am certainly not claiming that any of his biblical or other historical references are any better, but I can't assess them so easily. In fact, I think they are all wrong. But go look for yourself.) United States of Egypt? Pyramid Scams? What??
