I'm really happy because at bridge club tonight, I made a grand slam. That's right, folks, thirteen tricks in a hearts contract.
Partner had 14 points and A K Q J 10 x in hearts. I had two aces, 3 kings, and 18 points, not to mention five hearts.
He asked for aces. I responded with five hearts.
He asked for kings. I tentatively responded with... six spades.
He grinned. I grinned. He said seven hearts, and upon seeing my hand (the dummy), he was able to lay down and claim every single trick.
It was great.
