My Life

Wow. It is warm, Wednsday, and SCHOOL IS OUT FOR THE SUMMER! Praise be!

I think I had myself resigned to going to school forever, or at least until Winter Break. This summer is going to rock. Are you ready? Good.

Ah. Joe summed up his year- I am almost tempted to do the same, but it would be less interesting. I can do this for you, though.

September- Tennis. I play a lot, and feel relatively good about it. Tennis actually took center stage instead of Acadec, though they managed to relatively peacefully co-exist. One would get me out of the other. Handy.

October- Tennis ends, acadec begins for me in earnest. I begin to realize that I can slack off in World Studies.

November- a general blur, but I recall it being a short month with lots of days off. My birthday was in there somewhere.

December- training for acadec- I seem to recall a lovely walk to Foster with John where we talked about geeky headbands and purple celery. Christmas, Winter Break. Both were great, but too fast, as usual.

January- Regionals.

February- City, OPEC formed. Giggles all around.

March- State. Intense Acadec, then the excitement of the rumors of 2 teams, and then the compition. I clearly lost some part of my sanity permanently there, and then we get shipped off with our little silver medals as the third place team goes to Arizona. Stage One of Freshman year is over, and the long decompression period begins.

April- Acadec off season lasts one week. We start going again. It rained a bunch, and I slack off a lot more than normal. Mrs. Nielson leaves, giving me officially no hope at all for the rest of the year in English. I begin actually sleeping in class.

May- bliss. Wait, let me try again. Early May was eager expectation, after Russ' little (not little at all) revelation and hoping and weighing options and nervously biting fingernails and pretending everything was the same... Then the late(r) May comes bliss and that Grin that didn't want to leave. You saw that. :-) You might ask "Did anything else happen in May?" Let me see... no.

June- School is supposed to be over already, but isn't. More bliss, happiness, grins. Afternoons are filled with pleasant walks or talks, and evenings with events, movies, concerts, etc. A mere taste of the summer coming. Then, tomorrow, we will leave to go camping. Good times.
